Is Washington Taking Action?

  • Washington has already done a lot of work to address its future inland flooding risks. The state consolidated flood management grants into one broad program, Floodplains by Design, offering communities access to funding for climate change resilience and adaptation planning
  • The state also partners with local governments to implement the Floodplain Management Act, supporting the implementation of adaptation measures
