Nevada Drought

Nevada has also taken the least amount of action to prepare for its overall drought threat. While most drought-affected states have taken many steps to address current risks, Nevada has only taken some. And while the state has begun to assess its future vulnerabilities, it has done nothing to plan for them or implement resilience strategies.

For more information on how prepared Nevada is for its growing drought threat, read the detailed state summary.

Is Nevada Taking Action?

  • There is no evidence that Nevada has begun to develop a detailed statewide climate change adaptation plan for drought across the sectors examined
  • There is no evidence that Nevada has taken steps to implement adaptation measures such as creating funding, policies, or guidelines to improve resilience against climate change-related drought
  • The only step that state has taken to understand its future risks is through its Enhanced State Hazard Mitigation Plan, which recognizes the potential for increasing drought with climate change
