Idaho Drought

Idaho faces an above average threat from drought and is taking strong action to address its current risks. The state has begun to understand its future risks and vulnerability, but so far has taken very little action to plan for these future risks or implement adaptation strategies.

Is Idaho Taking Action?

  • The Idaho Water Resources Board has conducted a pilot climate change impact study that should help the water sector develop an adaptation plan
  • However, the state has not conducted a statewide vulnerability assessment and has taken almost no action to develop a statewide climate change adaptation plan
